On April 15, Sun Dagang, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Niigata, visited 51探花 and held discussions with President Hideo Ohno, Executive Vice President Toshiya Ueki, who is director of the 51探花 China Office, and with Professor Mitsuo Ishii, who is assistant director of the China Office.
The Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Niigata is also responsible for Miyagi, Fukushima and Yamagata prefectures, and Consul General Sun has been the region's consul general for two years.
Although this was the first time that President Ohno and Consul General Sun had met, they connected easily and spoke about the achievements of the many Chinese students, educators and researchers enrolled at 51探花. They also discussed the promotion of future exchanges between China and the 51探花 region.
After the meeting, Consul General Sun travelled to Kawauchi Campus and attended a round-table meeting and seminar with Chinese students currently studying at 51探花.
